we don’t often enjoy waiting…our culture (a learned habit) is impatience.

But what’s the rush? Why so anxious? Is ‘getting there’ so critical? Is your destination so important and your possession of something so necessary? Are we willing to run over others to get ‘there?’ We need to wait more often. Pause more often. Defer gratification more often. Don’t buy ‘it’ right now. Save your loot. Soak your feet. Turn the flat screen off. Celebrate ‘slow’ time.

Stop training people to expect an immediate response from you on your phone. Stop rushing into new ideas and relationships just because they’re ‘there.’ Stop devaluing your time and energy by rushing through life to get to places you don’t really want to be anyway. Slow down. Take a deep breath. Look around you. Take life in. Window shop. Burn a candle until it’s gone. Walk instead of run.

Take your time….what’s the rush?
